Melody, Jeanell, Catherine and I went down to Jazz Fest the first Sunday of the event this year. It was a lot of fun and much more crowded than I thought it would be. The night before we went, it had poured down rain, so the fairgrounds were pretty muddy. But they rolled out lots of plastic mat walkways and sod to make it a little easier to get around. Bruce Springsteen played that night, but we left shortly before that since we had to drive back to Baton Rouge and Mandeville. The food was great and there was plenty of it...and cheap! We really didn't have enough time to shop at the arts & crafts market, but it looked like they had some really neat things. We visited a few of the stages and enjoyed just sitting there listening to the music.
